Opening the Call

 November 13, 2012 surrounded by friends and family with anticipation mounting...we all saw a very excited Heather as she handled the envelope sent from church headquarters!  She held it carefully, doing a self weigh to see how heavy it was...not to heavy or thick so...perhaps staying state side.  But a friend that was just called to a foreign mission chimed in saying, "Mine wasn't very thick or heavy...so that's not a sure sign."  Everyone present posted their guess on a sticky note...who would be right? 

 Well, in the end no one was.  Only the Lord knew were she needed to serve.  Nicaragua Managua North Mission, entering the Guatemala MTC on March 20th, 2013. A perfect mission for our Heather.  A perfect place to serve a humble people.

Guatemala CCM Arrival!

 I am safe at the Guatemala MTC, or CCM as it is more properly said. We arrived with 12 sisters and and 5 elders. 3 came later for a total of 20 missionaries. My companions name is Hermana Taylor. I am mostly just writing to say that I am safe. My P-day is next Wednesday. On that day I will write more. Yesterday was a very long day. We had a pretty full day, after being on the plane forever. I´ve had some long days in my life, but this was the longest by far.Everything arrived here safe. The food is good. I can´t speak Spanish.  I´m looking out the window at the temple right now. There are no monkeys where I'm at (=.
